Barry Yacht Club

Formed in 1928 the club has seen many changes in direction. From starting as the Barry Yacht and Motor Boat Club, offering racing for sailing and motor boats, to the heady days of dinghy racing in the 60’s and 70’s when extensive fleets of Albacores, National 18’s and Mirrors could be seen on the start line off Jackson’s Bay. The Club's current focus is more on cruising, with many members embarking on long distance voyages, whilst others continue to enjoy evening and weekend club racing. In its 80th year, the Club now has excellent facilities for its existing membership, as well as the capacity to welcome new members, both with and without boats.
